What Ultranode™ is
Ultranode™ is a next-generation, high-silicon anode technology designed to unlock significantly higher energy density lithium-ion batteries whilst maintaining long cycle life. It enables lighter, smaller and longer-lasting batteries to be built without requiring major changes to existing manufacturing processes— a key enabler for commercial adoption/uptake.
How it works technically
Ultranode™ uses pure micron-sized silicon powders combined with proprietary formulation and additive technologies to control silicon expansion and preserve structures, enabling more than 1,000 cycles at 80% capacity retention when 70% silicon content is used—a world-first performance milestone.
Why it’s better vs alternatives
Unlike engineered Si/C composites or silane-based nano-silicon materials, Ultranode™ uses cost-effective silicon available at commercial scale globally from sources, avoiding complex or hazardous processing, reducing cost, supporting global supply chain independence, and enabling high-silicon anodes to become commercially viable for use in EV, eVTOL and other high-performance applications.
Compared with commonly used today graphite-only anodes or costly highly engineered nano-silicon carbon composite anodes, Ultranode™ offers higher energy, Lighter. Smaller. Longer lasting batteries.
